I’m Parisian,
I’m not in love with my city but I don’t hate it either.
In horizon 2020 Paris will be for sure a bicycle city and that’s great.
In the meantime we’re confronted to a huge problem Velib the parisian bike sharing service is out of control with Smovengo’s failed takeover in early 2018 and with the arrival of the Dockless Bike.
I Recognize the Service offered by Dockless Bike is 1000X better than Vélib in anyway but here’s the problem : Parisian.
You see you can have cliché about Parisian but this one is not :
– We hate having Bicycle parked on the middle of the sidewalk
In this case the more sensitive one can be really upset really fast and commit the irreparable by broking those bike whatever the ‘brand’.
I did not support in any way those act of vandalism and I recognize that’s we have some behavior issue concerning those dockless bike for sure.
But here is the real issue : Dockless Bike lifecycle even if it’s short only need to be used 20 times to be profitable.
That’s nothing i’m pretty sure you get it.
Since bike production cost less than repairing a damaged one we are witnessing huge graveyard of dockless bike …
